The identity of ALMA is in relationship - evidenced in the links that have formed and grown since the ALMA covenant was signed in 1998. As visits between link parishes and schools have taken place, we have all learnt a little of what it is to walk in each others’ shoes. Do explore the links and visits pages and be inspired by the deepening friendships within ALMA.
We have help and advice for parishes with a link, or considering having a link, in the “Getting Involved” section of this site.
Currently there are 46 London parishes twinned with parishes in Angola (12), Lebombo (13) and Niassa (22). Seven schools are formally twinned and others are developing connections.
Where available, a hyperlink will take you to a reflection and brief history of the link, written by the parishes concerned - preferably, both sides.
There are also maps showing the parishes and schools that have a link:
Since 1998, visits between Angola, London and Mozambique have increased considerably; and so too has our understanding of each other and the very different contexts and circumstances in which we minister. There are encouraging and inspiring reports of visits in this section.
Where available, a hyperlink will take you to the report of a visit.
This is an ongoing project. Contributions to fill in the gaps and complete the record are welcomed by the ALMA Communications Officer.
