About Bishop André

André Soares has managed to hold the Angolan church together single-handedly since 1992, becoming the first bishop of the new diocese in 2003.

His personal testimony tells more of his life story and mentions the suffering that Christians went through under the Marxist government.

• The diocese was founded in 2002. (Before that, from 1990, it was an Archdeaconry of Lebombo)
• Bishop André Soares was ordained Bishop in September 2003.
