The Bishop of London has visited children at a Pimlico school.
Dr Richard Chartres met young people at St Gabriel’s CofE Primary School, on the Churchill Gardens Estate, in Churchill Gardens Road, last Wednesday.
He told the children about the Diocese of London’s Lent Appeal 2009, which aims to raise money for people in Angola and Mozambique who struggle to find clean water.
Dr Chartres said: “I would urge everyone in the Diocese to use their Lenten journeys to consider our increasing use of water here and to give the precious gift of clean and safe drinking water.”
In 2008, the Diocese raised more than £95,999 for primary schools to be built in Lebombo and Niassa, both in Mozambique and Angola.
