I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I promised to send you some information of the work done in our Diocese for your record.

After our celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Diocese in last August 2012, followed by the general Elections which you participated with your prayers, the country seems stable and the people continue doing their business. We praise the Lord for his mercy.

During the period after election and according with the Canon 15, we continued with the process to appoint the new archdeacons and following the recommendation of the Diocesan Synod held in Luanda in 2010 for the need to divide the archdeaconry of Luanda in two, we created the Luanda North and Luanda South Archdeaconries and appointed two archdeacons : For Luanda North the Revd. Joana Francisco and for Luanda South the Revd. Simão Adolfo.

In Uige Province, archdeaconry of Nzadi a Lukizi was appointed the Revd. Vieira Jose Miguel. Remember that in August His grace the Archbishop Thabo commissioned other two archdeacons for Uige and Lukunga Loge archdeaconries. The objectives of all this is to renew the missionary leadership as two of the last archdeacons are retired.

Also I like to let you know we have opened the Anglican Church in the province of Bie in the centre of Angola. The Revd. Michael Clark has people from Bie in his parish, you can share with Him this news.

In addition, it is with great joy having received the wonderful instrument for the gospel, The African commentary Bible. According with Venerable Simão the plan was already made but not yet implemented. Each archdeaconry will receive six books and one book each missionary area and the remaining will be in national library in Luanda. And for the presentation we are depending with the next Diocesan Standing Committee next month.

Death notice: Just to let you know that on 1 January 2013, the Revd. Luis da Silva passed away. Please pray for Isabel Luis, the widow and children

In conclusion, I am hoping that this year 2013 can break all the barriers that the work of God can develop according with God’s will for glory of Jesus, our Lord.

Yours in the service of Jesus
