Alleluia Christ is risen indeed!
20th to 27th March 2016 we visited some parts of the Uíge District. During our stay, we visited:
- the parish of St. Michael and All angels in Negage. We had the privilege to confirm 26 candidates
- Holy Wednesday we celebrated the mass at Holy Cross Church in Puri and confirmed 8 people - here the Chapel was destroyed by the wind in December last year 2015.After the service we returned back to Uige.
- Holy Thursday the priests renewed their vows
- Good Friday we had a wonderful ‘sacred via’ from St. Philip to all Martyrs, with about four thousand people participating with joy and sorrow. The media and polices also participated.
- Afternoon of Friday we passed in retreat with 192 candidates for confirmations.
- On Saturday there was a retreat with the five candidates for ordination.
- On Sunday 27th the day of resurrection we had a wonderful celebration in which we ordained five deacons and confirmed 192 people, majority young people (102 female and 90 male). 3,500 people participated in the service which was broadcast live in Uige.
God is good all the time and the missionary diocese has been blessed with this kind of work, in spite of the difficulties the country is facing in diseases, death, corruption, poverty and so on. Please pray for us.
