Bishop Richard writes:

To Bishop André and all the clergy and people of the Diocese of Angola

My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

“I cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers” (Ephesians 1.16)

We in the Diocese of London praise God for your faithfulness to Christ over many years and are humbled by your perseverance and zeal for the Gospel through all the changing scenes of your nation’s life.

Now especially we join you in giving thanks for this first decade of the Diocese of Angola, built on the blood of the martyrs and the steadfast endurance of unnumbered saints.

May the Lord continue to bless you, the Holy Spirit continue to guide and empower you, and the joy of the Lord ever be your strength as you proclaim in word and deed the glorious Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.

With thanks for our partnership in the Gospel.

The Rt Revd & Rt Hon Richard Chartres KCVO DD FSA
