The first three women have been ordained in the Diocese of Angola

Bishop and Ordinands

Bishop André Soares writes:

“We ordained the first three women on 25 March, the World Day of Mother´s Union. It was a great celebration with about 2000 people in the presence of the Vice President of the National Assembly, Mrs Joana Lina Ramos Baptista, and the General Director of Religious Affairs.

With this event the Diocese is now opened for both men and women in ordained ministry for the glory of God.

Their names are: Filomena Teta Estevão, Joana Francisco and Nsimba Lindeza da Fonseca, and they will work as deacons in the parishes of St. Steven, St. Peter and St. Mary in Luanda respectively.”
