ALMA EMAIL CIRCULAR 15 APRIL 2010

From Sheenagh Burrell, ALMA Communications Officer
almacomms@london.anglican.org T: Tuesdays: 020 7932 1231

Dear ALMA Reps and Friends,

Please can I ask you to hold Bishop Mark Van Koevering and his family in your prayers: Bishop Mark was in Lichinga hospital over last weekend with pneumonia and although now home on antibiotics he remains very weak. He has been advised to go to South Africa for further checks, which will probably happen next week. This is obviously a very worrying for the Van Koevering family and their Diocese.

1. Two Additional Diary Dates:

Monday 26 April ALMA Reps Meeting 6-8pm with Jo Lambert at London Diocesan House, Main Hall.

Jo is a newly graduated engineer, who visited Niassa in 2007 and has just returned from three months in Niassa working alongside Rebecca Vander Meulen and the Equipas da Vida on water projects.  Come and be inspired by the wonderful work and the insights Jo can give to the Community Development work. There will be an opportunity to see Jo’s stunning film too.

RSVP to me for refreshments planning.

Sunday 25th April St Peter’s Hammersmith launch their bike4bikes project to raise funds for health workers bicycles in their link parish of Messumba.

2. Two Reminders:

a. Stewarding at St Paul’s

Please volunteer to steward a time slot at the ALMA EXHIBITION IN THE CATHEDRAL 21 June - 11 July. It would be so good to have ALMA Reps and Friends sharing our link with Cathedral visitors.

If you could offer to do one or more sessions (either 9.30 –1pm or 1pm-4.30), perhaps with a friend from your church, please contact Helen Doery who will be co-ordinating this rota while I’m in Mozambique: (Email helendoery@hotmail.com T: 020 7727 9277). Stewards will have free entry to the Cathedral when they are on the rota.

b. New ALMA Volunteer Posts

Do look at the Diocesan Site for the advert for the new ALMA Posts and reflect on whether you or someone you know might have the have time and capacity to serve in any these roles

3. and Finally …
