Lent Appeal 2011 poster

The Lent Appeal 2011 Poster

We have very generously been given the services of a designer for our cover and poster, so you will notice it is a little different from previous years but strangely pertinent and inspiring! It features the Angolan church leaders, ordained and lay, who took part in the Rooted in Jesus course in May 2010

The 2011 Diocesan Lent Appeal is the fourth of the five Lent Appeals dedicated to ALMA in the London Challenge 2012 initiative. It will focus on equipping our partner churches in Angola and Mozambique by investing in the training of God’s People.

As at December 2011, we have raised £47,000 and it has already been used to provide additional lay and clerical training – to support the tremendous growth the Mozambican and Angolan churches are experiencing – and will also fund the purchase of 180 ‘Africa Bible Commentaries’ in Portuguese.

Launch Event

On 12 March, Bishop Richard launched the 2011 Lent Appeal at St Mary with St Alban Teddington.
