This is an ambitious two-phase project for Chihunzuine and ALMA’s Children Fund. Life in Chihunzuine, in the vicinity of Zandemela, is affected each and every day by the shortage of water. At present children are often deprived of the opportunity for education because they are needed to fetch the water, which for younger children can be a two hour round trip.

Drilling has taken place and water has been located at a depth of 110 metres. A more plentiful supply of water will also improve the general standard of health in Chihunzuine.

The solar powered well will enable the second phase of the project to get underway, which is the provision of pre-school facilities for Chihunzuine and surrounding areas.

Maintenance of the well will be covered by contributions from the local people for both the water and pre-schooling. The Church will run the programme in collaboration with the local authorities and the beneficiaries will be the whole population, regardless of religion.

In your prayers please remember Revd Armando Miguel, Enoque Nyamcase and Councillor Titos Azarias Digere, who are running this project.

It also has some sections translated into Portuguese.
